I just mailed off our ENTIRE dossier (minus our 797 or 171-H) to FTIA this afternoon. As soon as I got home, I checked the mail and there was our fingerprint appointment!
YEEEEEEEEEE!
So, in an ideal world, this is what will happen:
1.) FTIA will work on translating our dossier while we get fingerpinted and wait [...]

Our approved Home Study arrived on Monday, so I shipped off our I600A Tuesday and a second copy to the state to get it authenticated/certified. When the one from the state gets back, it will go to the Vietnamese Consulate. Then we’ll just wait on getting our finger print appointment and getting our I 797 back [...]

Our plan is to give our child an “American sounding” first name and keep his/her Vietnamese name as his/her middle name. (Our child with have a Vietnamese name given to him/her by either his/her parents or by the orphanage workers.)
